Is it because the Chinese like to boil dogs alive, as they think it makes the meat taste nicer? but they break the dog's spine beforehand, otherwise it kicks too much as it's skin slowly sloughs off and it dies screaming in agony...
Either that or the ongoing Rhino/Elephant/FuckingEverything extinction by their hand

Yeah, the thing about cooking/preparing animals alive is absolutely fucked and I don’t understand why some Asians do it.
You’ll see places in Japan where they’ll serve you live frogs that you can eat raw: they gut them and slice their bottom half, leaving them to watch as you eat their legs and belly.
I’m genuinely confused how anyone could have such disrespect and be so inhumane towards the animals that die so we may live.
We eat shellfish alive, cook lobsters alive and the thing the French do with the ortolan is pretty fucked up. All pales in significance to what those bug people do with dogs though.
As I understand it, the whole point is that it's a shocking way to eat something. Kind of like how the US has rocky mountain oysters, it's meant to be disturbing and to see who's brave enough to do it.
They're not over there torturing animals every morning with breakfast.
That’s absolutely disgusting and barbaric.
The Chinese have forfeited the right to live. We were fine with letting you lead your meaningless barbaric slave existences in your homeland; but you created a bioweapon in a half-cocked attempt to dominate the planet, and now we discover you were influencing our education and entertainment to boot?
