This was back in the 80s. When the NES came out, I couldn't believe how awesome the controller was. At first I wasn't sure I'd like a D-Pad, but once you used it, it was amazing.

I used to have one, used it mainly for Sierra games (Police Quest, Leisure Suit Larry etc). It was great for parts like driving a car or having to walk diagonally, but then you always had to set it down to type in the keyboard commands, which got annoying.

It was. Before all could access a BBS, there would be groups of people who would chip in weekly to rent a PC game, buy blank disks, copy the game and photocopy the manual or open up cardboard wheels and copy the components so that they could be recreated and a wheel was provided for each group member. Everyone paid something like $10 and all got copies of a game and manual each week.
