I was 4 my Dad would have been 29 in 1996. I guess he found solace in playing it whenever he could get a chance since he worked so often. He was always into computing though. One of his major hobbies. I think I mentioned after he passed that at 8 in 2000 i found his C64 and started programming using BASIC until i realized it was completely obsolete. Started learning C++ but stopped after I got distracted with other things.
