I finally picked, thank you all for your advice. Rooster was at a shelter for 3 months. He is a huge clutz but super gentle considering he's already 85lbs. He needs some leash and obediance work because he was neglected but I am happy I listened to a few of you and saved him instead of getting a puppy.

He's half Rottweiler and half Shepard and it shows, he's very smart and protective. He's exactly what I want in a dog and I'm glad I saved him instead of financing a breeder.

Update: Turd refuses to go anywhere without me, has stopped eating like it's a competition and I believe he is trusting me now. Rescuing this tard was my best idea in a while. I hope he get's over his notions I'll ditch him, this kid is now the priority of my life.

Thank you, happy new year!

Edit: His name wouldn't be my first choice but we're all having a ball with it. My dad just said "good night, scratch your cock for me".

🤣

He's a perfect fit. Working on obediance training now that there's some trust built. I walk around with a pocket full of milk bones to bribe him into listening. We go to the dog park every day. His seperation anxiety has reduced but he still worries some, fortunately he gets to come to work with me and I don't have much of a life so basically I never have to leave him alone.

I'm really glad to hear he's settling in. What is it with dogs and snow? Mine love it.

so basically I never have to leave him alone.

It took a long time for me to wean one of mine away from that anxiety. I'd start by leaving the house for short periods of time and not making a fuss when I came back in. I gradually increased the time away until he was used to me being gone.

The kid could sleep on an iceberg, it comes in handy after the mud at the dog park, forty degrees out and I'm rinsing him off with a garden hose lol. He doesn't mind one bit, as long as he is going wherever I'm going he's stoked. He's already a celebrity at my local Home Depot, the ladies there spoil him with treats and I get yelled at if I don't bring him in to see everyone.

It's good to have a sidekick again, I drink less and keep to a schedule now that I have the turd to take care of... I don't know who rescued who.
