Last Sunday when trying to carbonate some tap water, there was a bang and a loud hiss with dry ice flakes flying. Not good.

After opening the jew water fizzler, I found the culprit was a broken nut that holds the pressure hose on the CO2 valve side. When I looked online, I found a replacement and thought 'That looks 3D printed'.

Sure enough, there's plenty of variants to choose from. Seems to be a common fault. https://www.thingiverse.com/search?q=sodastream+nut&page=1&type=things&sort=relevant

I settled on this plus two to three layers of teflon tape around the little brass ferrule that's clamped on the hose. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5824115

Was surprised at how good the thread came out on my Ender 3, printed extra slowly at 25mm/s in PLA.

I have a big CO2 tank left over from when I used to brew my own beer. I saw that there are adapters for most of the sodastream's so you can just hook it up to the full sized tank and not use the smaller cylinders. Maybe ill try the re-filler first.

There are even soda mixing faucets: https://www.grohe.us/kitchen/design-trends/chilled-sparkling-water https://www.blanco.com/int-en/mixer-taps/drinking-water-systems/soda/ https://seltzatap.com/

Not worth it for us and our level of consumption and probably not cheap but interesting to know what's available.

Yeah, we don't use it all that much either. Kind of why I was thinking I would just go with the adapter thing.
