Despite some of the greenest electricity on Earth, a Norwegian still needs to get 45 years of use out of his imported EV battery (expected life 15 years) to offset the global CO2 cost of producing it.

GM is so incompetent, they created an electric vehicle that people liked, but had literally been designed to be a flop. It was what most people needed in an EV - small, using easily available batteries (that didn't explode!), with a range of about 100 miles. Instead of saying "Hey, people love this, let's make them!" they took all of them back with prejudice, got mad that people actually liked the thing, and destroyed them - leaving only 1 known working example left.

What a fucking dumpster fire of a company.

WSJ archive link because paywall: https://archive.is/klTWo

Did the archive.today link in the OP not work for you? https://archive.today/klTWo

Just wondering, cause if not I'll stop using it and just add extra links for .is, .ph, .md, etc.

It probably did but since I'm stupid I clicked through and didn't see it.
