More shit about live audio. On the local gig this week, with two young ladies as help. Nice folks, not at all ignorant about how a live show works. But they’re tiny. One must be 5’6” 100lbs, the other 5’9” and equally skinny. Real sweethearts tho, and they still like live music, God bless em.

Yea well 3phase 4/0 feeder is fuckin heavy. I’m 6ft and reasonably built from doin this shit (albeit still overweight), and every guy I’ve mentioned this situation to has some strange reaction when I say they’re useless for this task. “Weeelllll but..” Not just useless, but they could easily hurt themselves.

Only two shortish runs for our AC needs, and I pulled em with them feeding as best they could. We had to unplug and coil the short run to lock a door, and the bigger girl fuckin struggled to over-under coil it. That was 2/0 even I think. We did manage to flip up the four ~300lb speakers without any issue. Made me nervous tho, if somethin started moving wrong, they have no extra strength to stop or redirect it. Geez I am so sexist......

I finally got light 10/5 shop test cables, but the one summer my only option was 4 50’ 4/5 sumbitches. I could carry em 2 on each arm, but that’s still some copper to wrap.

Me and my bandmate got a couple rolls of 200' XLR, made a decent 8 channel snake. That's some awesome shit that I actually can appreciate.

Nice! Making cables is fun I always thought, especially on the porch drinkin beer ha. Keeps your hand steady! 8-banger looms are always useful, I’ve made a few for monitor drive or wireless racks. I don’t make cables at my day job; those guys build absolutely wild shit to a crazy standard.
