Iphones are dumbed-down retard phones. Why do i need like 5 different accounts just to use it? Why cant i shut off security features if i want to? Why do menus only ever have like 2 options when my droid has dozens. Gestures? Fuck you. I want a back button by default. Iphones have too much swiping and dragging and its just total horseshit. I haven't found one feature on my iphone that id like to port over to my droid. Not one.

Features I missed from my smart phone when I was using dumb flips for the last few years:

  • GPS navigation
  • Email notifications when I'm away from my PC
  • Apps, like I can choose what music player I want
  • A decent web browser (tabs, video playback, etc.)
  • KDE Connect for zapping stuff to and from my PC over Wifi
  • Even though touchscreen, which is annoying (I miss my Droid's physical keyboard), a full keyboard.

I could probably go on. All of the free and open options are only available in Europe. If I could, I would have one that runs aregular Linux distro, but we're just not there yet and may never be.

I sold phones for 11 years, can confirm. Also, the majority of phone issues we saw were on iPhones, and they were all the same exact issues. Absolutely awful.

Verizon all the way. I had sprint for years, att for years via work, and when sprint jerked me around for the millionth time and then pissed off Verizon (who then shut down the towers) , I made the switch. Yes it was more. The functionality overrode the cost increase, and I suddenly could use my phone anywhere, any time. I could compete calls. It was amazing.
