I just watched a Pawn Stars vid where they talked about these Roman brothel coins. Apparently you couldn't use coin with the emperor's picture to pay for sex. So you bought one of these to use instead. There should be a number on the reverse side that lets you know which room/prostitute. I'm surprised they haven't brought back temple prostitutes. Get closer to God through having sex with a temple "virgin"! Even better it will be non-taxable as a religion.
