Cool. That's a house centipede. They hunt down and kill bugs and I've heard even mice. As far as I know, they're a "good" bug, if there is such a thing.
I've only ever seen one in real life. It was in a work building. They move like goddamn lightning, don't they?
How many have you seen?
and I've heard even mice
Excuse me? That's dope, and terrifying.
I imagine they could easily take pinkies and hoppers right out of the nest. Who knows, maybe an adult?
The fossil record suggest the ancient mega-centepedes hunted fucking alligators.
I've had fun reading your bants btw, lmao, thanks man.
I've seen them twice since I moved in last fall, but it may be the same one.
Fast as hell.
First time I caught him in the middle of the living room floor, so I said, yeah you can live here, but give me my space.
Another guy was working with me inside a 10'x20' company outbuilding. I saw a little blur shoot across my boot. We both looked and saw nothing. Then it happened again, then again. Finally we located the thing upside down on a cable. We had never seen anything like it. I got a great picture of it. I'd say the body was 3" long with those legs making it look a lot bigger. We pretty much did nothing for the next couple hours except research what the hell it was.
They use those long antennas to hunt in the dark. But I think they also key off of vibration.
did nothing but research
I did the same thing when I found an "ant" with scorpion claws crawling on me. fucking spooky bugs, man.
You're very gracious, it would have to be me or him.
