Hey it’s good to see you, sir; how long did it take for you to get that flag ?

[–] 1 pt

Less than a day. They finally turned on password recovery, so I was able to access my account again (they’re the ones who forcibly changed my password on me). I have no idea what the flag means, what caused it, or why they think they can put a trigger warning on my account on every single board, thereby destroying anyone’s ability to have an honest discourse. Do you know?

I’m guessing it “officially” has to do with the rate at which you got downvoted - POAL has much more strict expectations that downvotes be reserved for spam or illegal content, so if someone downvotes a lot, or is downvoted a lot, it can lead to a flag.

The admins say it’s an “algorithm”, but I think they’ll full of it. It’s probably some admin making sure you get in with a splash.

Ah, so when Q-LARPers gang up on someone they can literally censor them site-wide? Makes sense.

Ooh, so they could technically be banned for downvoting me for daring to prove their god wrong?
