Also consider the micro controller ESP32. It can cost as low as $4.00. It has WiFi, bluetooth, GPIO, DACs, ADACs and more.
You're not going to get a new one for anything close to a reasonable price right now. (I used to keep several spares but have been unable to replace them for about a year.)
I second the vote for checking out the esp8266 / esp32. You can do quite a bit with them. You can also get them cheap from China and even Amazon sometimes.
BTW I think the purple haired folks at Adafruit (not a name joke) still have the best prices, if they ever get inventory.
The prices are wayyyy too high at most retailers, they've been heavily hit by the chip shortage. Double the MSRP.
If you want to buy one, you can get it at CanaKit. Many of the kits are in stock, for everything else most are backordered a couple months.
