Wasn't the entire country on meth?
All soldiers and leaders used speed in various forms during WW2. Churchill preferred cocaine lozenges, Hitler preferred meth, and they even gave their soldiers a mild form of MDMA so they could tolerate the realities of the biggest war in documented history. All High Command on both sides were literally high, staying up for days and nights during key moments and turning point battles.
...yes. It was a shame how it happened and to be honest both Germany and the jews had equal blame on that. It's like The Devil (spiritually) took over Germany after methamphetamine we're introduced. If methamphetamines weren't introduced and Germany didn't attack the Soviets in the winter then Europe would be a different and more positive place.
Most soldiers even today are issued dextroamphetamine to stay awake on campaign.
