Thought it was a kubelwagen, but I think you're correct: Kubels have a single pane windscreen whereas that one has a split in the middle.
Yeah. I thought the same thing kind of so I went and looked up pics... and I see none of the various really cool VW thingers with split windscreens [but I DID see that fucking awesome SCHWIMMWAGEN again, which was cool to see... goddam them Krauts made cool shit. I still love their Benzes for whatever reason.

I've never seen one of those with a split windshield like this. Not to say such a thing couldn't have possibly existed, I have just not seen it.
Yeah, me either. Not really sure, that was just the first one that came to mind. Didn't Mercedes also make a military vehicle of that nature?
