AEP is planning "rolling brownouts" in Ohio due to the "heat". The worst propaganda they shit out every year during the summer is the "heat index". It's 91 degrees but it feels like 115. How does the weatherfags know what 115 feels like? Why isn't there a "cold index"? Women seem to think they are freezing when it's 90 outside.

The southern states uses hurricanes to scare people too. "NOAA has the storm going back out to sea, endangering no one but our Fox Weather radar has the storm coming straight up I-45, with expected death tolls in the thousands with human blood flooding expected at 4 to 6 feet.

Fuck the local news.

EDIT: snow reporting is the only useful thing the local news can cover but we don't need a fucking non-stop coverage for 8 fucking hours.

Fuck the local news.

Mostly for high temperatures, it will be using humidity to bump up the "feels like" temperature.

Used to get to 45-47C in Summer when I was a kid, that would last for about a week or so, but it was bearable for a short time, particularly if there was a slight breeze, because it was a dry heat (we weren't in the tropics). The humidity reduces the effectiveness of evaporation, so sweating won't cool you down.

Generally though, it's just bullshit that they use to claim that the weather is worse now than it used to be. It's not. They're just lying to you and using turd quality datasets that are corrupted by monitoring stations that are poorly sighted (like at airports or in large urban areas).
