My boss, who is a little older than me, messaged me and said he wasn't going to be in today because he had a bad headache. Yeah, so what bitch? I have a bad headache every day anymore, some of them get so bad that I start hearing colors. 8 aspirin or ibuprofen every 4 hours will usually keep it at bay enough to where I can function but but whatever. How is a headache keeping you from coming to work? Sure, there are days when the joints flare up and I can't use my left hand or my ankle wants to give out, but still..I still make it in to work, and you're the one going to the doctor every other week it seems like.

I guess I've just learned to live with this stuff and he's a little bitch.

idk man, i've had 2 migraines in my life. that shit is legit crippling for some. I was so light sensitive it felt like an icepick in my brain and i was vomiting as a result of light exposure. Like bad headaches whatever, pop some aspirin and move on, but a migraine is like something inside your brain is swelling and trying to explode some anheurysm or some shit idk. it's god awful. That being said, pot works for that.

I have bad headaches every day. It's just something you learn to live with because no fucking quack in this world is going to be interested in finding out why unless the why pays them more than shoving pills down your throat.

99% of headaches are from dehydration. Everytime my head hurts, I drink a glass of water and it's gone. Idk birds might be different tho.

[–] 0 pt

I drink quite a bit of water. Usually on the order of 2 gallons or so a day.

[–] 3 pts

Have you considered that he might be lying about the headache?

[–] 1 pt

I don't think so, I've known him for a while and I've generally found that I can take things he says at face value. There were voice cues as well I could hear.

[–] 2 pts

Does he strike you as the sort of person who would actually take off for a headache?

[–] 1 pt

I don't know, I can't judge that kind of thing about people. Never had had that kind of intuition.

[–] 2 pts

See if there is an underlying problem you can address for the headaches. I know that you can live through the pain, because I did it for years with my teeth. The problem is, you don't realize how much that pain is draining you every day. When I finally got my teeth fixed, I probably gained an effective 10 IQ points just to not have that dull roar at the back of my mind all the time. Chronic pain like that is like a medical Jew. Get the pain jew out of your body and you will be shocked how much you improve.

I've been to a lot of quacks over the years. Never could get any solutions that worked, just the normal "Drink water, take pill" stuff. Now that I don't have insurance, it's moot.

[–] 1 pt

That's rough. Sometimes you have to do the pill pusher's job yourself. Hypertension is an obvious call, but that doesn't mean the idiots in the white coats didn't miss it anyway. Do you have untreated high blood pressure? (Not trying to dox, these are questions to ask yourself, not tell me.) In that case, the "drink lots of water" instruction would actually be making it worse, and you would be better off with a diuretic.

No you're fine...I have HBP and it's been there since I was a kid and it's quite hereditary. I've tried treatments that brought it down considerably, but did nothing for this issue.

I just had a crown and they took my BP...plugged the numbers in to a calc and it said "Your blood pressure is very high." and advised me to call a doctor right away...lololololololol

Yah and who is paying for that, cotton?

If my boss told me he wasn't coming in to work, I'd be delighted since he tends to cause my headaches. Its the same with upper management and the reason I work the night shift. All those fuckers do is bitch and moan about things we've struggled with forever. Be part of the solution or shut the hell up and move over bitch.

If it was a migraine headache I can understand not coming to work. For a time in my life I started to have migraine head aches for some reason. The pain was on par with a back injury that required surgery to repair. Anyone who has suffered a serious back injury knows what I'm talking about. It was almost like someone stabbing me in the top of the head with an ice pick. I don't know what caused the head aches or why they eventually quit happening but I don't know how long I could have lasted if they continued. They hurt so bad that it blurred my vision. At least with the back injury I was able to get some relief through surgery. I could only get moderate relief for the head aches with drugs.

Right there with you. I enjoy giving people shit for it. Yeah, my back hurts or I have a cold sometimes but will I tell anyone? No. I have a job to do. What I'm coming to realise (I guess for a second time) is how moldable people are. They now take advantage of whatever the "norm" is. In this case it's the post lock down mentality where you can use anything different from feeling great as a scapegoat. The world is full of gullible pussy faggots and I'm glad you're not one of them.

I had a boss that would sometimes take a day off just for the fuck of it but would call it a sick day.

He would "call in" and say he had a "eye problem". If you asked about it, he would say "Eye can't see myself at work today".

Sometimes people just need a day to fuck off. Other times they are weak pussies and should be shamed. Depends on the person, frequency and situation.

[–] 1 pt

We have the ability to work remote, so there's no need to "call in sick" - you just stay home and do what you can.

I guess when I think about it, most of the people I work with go to the doctor a lot. Our boss at corp is always going to an appointment. All I can say is they must be making some bank because the insurance this company has would make a jew go "Whoa, wait...it's THAT bad?"

[–] 1 pt

Yeah, I don't take off often for about anything. However, I get to work remote. Even if I feel like shit I can still get enough done in a day that its not a big deal and I can do it while drinking tea and watching a movie with my work laptop (other than when I have to be on one of the completely pointless meetings).

I have had to take a day or two off from time to time for a migraine but that is so rare its counted on one hand over the span of years. That is only because I am basically useless if I get one that bad and just want to hide in a dark room until things level out.

I'm sure you know this, but just in case: Over 600Mg Ibuprofen is really bad for you, I'd lean more on the aspirin or acetaminophen.

I like to do 400MG Ibuprofen with 500 Acetaminophen. Together they make a mild kind of narcotic that fights inflammation and other pain. When I am really hurting I bump the Ibuprofen up to 600Mg but I try to avoid that.

[–] 1 pt

I know it's bad. Acetaminophen does nothing for me, so I don't bother.

Have you noticed that aspirin is harder to get these days? At least in my area, the scamdemic seemed to remove it from the shelves.

[–] 1 pt

That's odd. I haven't noticed that here.
