Best thing is building real world software. Since you're young and presumably ok being a little broke, really try to find someone around you that will let you build something for them
Offer to start cheap. Like $15 an hour for something easy (difficulty of building a web page) or $25 an hour for a medium difficulty app. It's gonna suck to work so hard for low pay, but you'll be able to put real working exp on your resume
Then you just parlay that upward. Ideally you can find a company to pay for you to finish your degree
