If you like Genghis Khan, you might be interested in that podcast call "Wrath of the Khan's" by Dan Carlin of Hardcore History. Khan was a badass motherf*cker and was never stopped. You may also like the story of (check out the article and all the references on that posting) who was ruthless to his country's merchant, jewish and islam enemies but loved by his people. There seems to be rhyming melodies in history, but all the good guys always end up being hated. Probably because the merchants always end up controlling everything and don't like being blocked by good people.
