There’s a user who has quail on here I do to. I’m on year two and here’s why I’m getting rid of them;
Pros;
Quail eggs have twice the nutrition of chicken eggs
They cure asthma
You can’t get salmonella
Quail are easy to take care of
Cons
Quail eggs are tiny and a bitch to peel when you cook.
The eggs aren’t practical. It takes a lot for an omelette and the shells break into your egg
The birds are too small for a proper meal
They fly.
My hatch success rate is 0% yea it’s probably something I did wrong but fuck man that’s discouraging
At the end of the day quail are want to be chickens and they fail in all the aspects.
Quail is the most underrated animal to raise at home and one of the tastiest things to hunt. Tell me about your quail, or you can ask about mine. I might even show off my ducks. D-U-C-K-S, maroonsaint.
