We have a pair of quite large guinea pigs. The male especially is big fellow. They eat these things in Peru, and I love teasing the little ruck_feddits about sampling their pigs. I highly doubt that'll ever happen unless things get real, real bad.

Anyway, the female had her first litter tonight. 4 healthy little pigs.

Knew a Mormon guy who was sent to Peru for his mission and had to raise and butcher these for their meals. He said it was pretty tasty, especially compared to the chicken leg soup they frequently had.

Can't taste too different from rat or squirrel right? Lots of people eat those as well.

Do you spend time with the guinea pigs? We have rabbits and I think I'm the only one who spends any time with them, even though they are the kids' pets.

The rest of the household goes crazy when I say we should eat one. If I had to bet, I'd bet they can potentially cook up real nice.

Our animals get tons of daily child and wife attention. Even the yard birds get regular handling whether they want it or not.
