It has rained an astounding amount lately, so had to take over a week break from when I first started this. But I've got flaps for accessing food, water, and eggs at both ends. It will be partitioned for two breeds of chickens so that I can hatch true. Just need to add the wire wrap tomorrow and put the wheels on the end, then add a tarp over the egg and water/feed area.

This guy gives amazing suggestions for chicken tractors, if you're interested in that sort of thing. After I get this one finished I'll be making two more, one for turkeys and another for rabbits. Quail might even get one, I have to think about it.

do you have foxes there? might need to lay something around the edges to stop the faggots digging under it

We do, and I'm wrapping it all the way around with that black plastic tanex elk fencing you see behind it. We also have our entire yard fenced in, and three livestock guardians. I don't think anything will come into the yard without getting eaten by them but I'm not taking chances.

They'll still get the grass, bugs, and dirt through it.

you can also run an electric wire about 150mm out from the edge about 200mm off the ground and that will stop them too

I think this contraption is supposed to be mobile.

These things are cool.

Tractor? Is it going to be mobile?

Yes, attach a couple lawn mower wheels at one end and a rope at the other. Light weight, easy to pull.

That looks great.

Chicken tractor is a metaphor for human existence. We peck. We more on. We peck some more. We move on. We peck. And then suddenly, we're Sunday dinner.

We're all just peckerheads and then we die.
