If memory serves me, the pigs were fed the leftover mash from the whiskey production. I can't remember what animal it was, someone said it nothing but I think blueberries? Meh, just curious.
Midwestern corn-fed beef tastes better than western grass-fed beef. You're citing a real thing, but I just don't know what it would take to alter the taste of a coturnix.
Got something you want me to try and report back in a few months? Not sourpatch kids. Maybe a lot of chives in group A and a lot of cracked corn in group B? Compare those to the standard diet?
To be honest I'm not really sure what you would feed them to change their flavor. I would think too much of one thing, like berries, would make them taste too gamey (and too expensive to feed them for 8 weeks.) I really don't know even what to recommend. Different grains?
Coturnix isn't gamey, especially the leg meat. I'm putting some in the fridge to thaw right now for dinner tomorrow.
Because this is making me hungry.
