That's awesome. Pheasants take too much room for what I'm prepared to setup, but I see wild ones all the time. I'd love to have some, to look at as well as eat. One of the locals here has peacocks and keeps a variety of button quail as pets.
The real trick was teaching my rottweilers that birds are friends, not food! It only cost me 1 chicken.
I have owned rabbits. The only reason I don't now is because they're more labor intensive and honestly don't reproduce as fast as my quail. A guy in the town 5 miles away decided to release all his rabbits a few years ago. The whole town is full of a variety of domestic rabbits. They thin out during the winter (coyotes probably), and they're literally everywhere in the summer. I mean every yard has them sitting around.
I use the ducks in place of stew meat and for roast. It's hard to tell the difference between duck and beef roast.
