The speaker of the House race is all theater IMHO. It brings eyeballs of the normies. A few days of the House doing nothing but voting for speaker is no big deal in the grand scheme of things. I think the odds of McCarthy getting the gavel are below 50%. But the theater needs to play out before someone else gets the votes. This also lets Trump see where people stand. By Trump endorsing McCarthy, he keeps the dems from crossing over for him. You have to find out who are the weeds. So enjoy your popcorn.

100%, with a twist - I think it's a stall tactic so they can't convene until the SC decides on the Brunson case.

Interesting. Watching Hannity brow beat Boebert. Hannity is the one that doesn't understand the math. If McCarthy can't get to 218, it is time for him to get off the ballot and see if someone else can get to 218. 200+ are not going to vote for someone else as long as McCarthy is on the ballot because they value their committee position and his control of both the money and the process if he does eventually get the votes. Of course there may be more defections if they finally believe that he is not going to get in. That may take many more votes.

Agree - could Trump get 218 votes? Yes, he could. Would that be hilarious watching Trump chair the committees investigating these criminals? Two years of that circus would heal us all - LMAO just thinking about it. PRICELESS.

I'm asking truthfully. Is it that the SCOTUS decision will shake things up so much that choosing SOH will all be for naught?

If that Brunson case succeeds, we could see Trump sworn in as SOH. Far-fetched - but certainly not impossible,

Well McCarthy made it in with a fight. I haven't gotten caught up yet on SCOTUS, just reading my msgs now. I'm almost afraid to look at the boards! Haha
