According to Wikipedia and FEC records, Smith's wife Katy Chevigny is a film maker who works at BigMouthProductions (it's her company).

There is NO WAY a producer of Michelle Obama's biography wouldn't have intimate and daily contact with the Obamas through out the production. This leaves me wondering if this wasn't all arranged 3 or so years ago.

Conflicts, when occurring with spouses, only matter when it's Conservatives (aka Justice Thomas and his wife Ginni Thomas.) Democrats will brush this off as a non-event and move forward.
