The entire book of Judges in the Old Testament is a 'testament' to the fact that God does indeed raise up leaders that, with the help of the people, break the yoke of an enemy.

There is nothing wrong with powerful leadership, it is in fact something that has happened throughout history. Having leadership and being valiant personally are not mutually exclusive.
