From what I read on another site, this will not be a public hearing. Not sure that means it's behind closed doors (secret, classified session) or just not aired to the public but "reporters" will attend. IMO, we'll only know from the BS that Schitt leaks to the press.

They can't risk Trump exposing them in real time on national TV. They won't want to show how disrespectful they will treat him to get him pissed off so they can get their 3 second sound bites taken out of context to support their narrative ... which will be leaked, of course.

Obviously, just a show. I'd advise Trump to stay clear and focus on the upcoming election - no matter what he says, what facts are presented, etc., his words will be twisted into some unrecognizable form and since the DOJ is in their pocket, he'll probably get arrested.
