First update today......On Wednesday, coach Dan Campbell discussed the latest surrounding Smith’s recovery:
“Yeah, he’s doing good. Alright, he’s doing good. However, we’re getting some things looked at with him. Actually, we’re sending him to the doctor tomorrow, but we don’t see residual head effects, things of that nature. He’s clear. He’s in good spirits other than being frustrated that he’s not going to be able to play, so but there’s some other things we’re looking at with him.”from that regard, he’s good. It's obviously a cover up because they are lying about the head injury, and the most likely reason they are lying is to cover up a Vax injury, as is customary these days. But you need critical thinking abilities to understand that so don't expect sheep to accept the obvious.

Their arms cushion most of the collision. The receiver takes an outside angle too by moving his head and body to the left of the defender, so it's not head on, and immediately the defender's legs seem to be quitting. As they barely disengage, the defender is already stumbling, like he got blasted, which he obviously didn't.
I had a few diagnosed concussions when I played football (and I'm sure many more undiagnosed that I just played through), and I think the defender in this play gets stunned too quickly for this to have happened from that type of a hit.
That big ouch isn't from that little pinch.
I bet this was already dawning on him even before the contact and it just took his body that long to process it.
It looks like he was supposed to cover the receiver man-to-man, but his legs/feet locked up facing forward and he could't wheel around and run with the receiver. So when he was spun around with his legs locked (and his brain scrambled), he fell. When a defender isn't covering man-to-man, he'll check/hit the receiver, let him go, all the while keeping his eyes on the football, which the QB still had.
Since he clearly was visually tracking the receiver, he was supposed to be running with him in coverage, otherwise he'd never have taken his eyes off the ball/QB.
