In the event of a blackout the Twitter account will provide news updates on the 20 meter ham frequencies of 14.060 MHz (primary) and 14.300 MHz (emergency).

(I'm currently on the the air twice a day at 1 pm and 10 pm eastern on 14.310 MHz.) https://twitter.com/AlertChannel/status/1574839602652880896

In the event of a total blackout, we will make important announcements over the analog radio on the following frequency (on the 20 meter): 14.060 MHz (primary call frequency) and 14.300 (primary Emergency frequency)

“It’s close.”

Fast forward five years. “It’s close.”

Fast forward another 10 years. “It’s close.”

Have 2 stations working the 11 meter and an HF receiver. No problem spreading it far and wide, when Mother Nature permits, of course.

Whats the modulation? AM? or USB?

Well shit - I thought a HAM radio was basically the same thing as a CB radio. I was wrong. HAM radios have a totally different band range and REQUIRE A LICENSE to operate. Good luck accomplishing THAT before the apocalypse starts. :-(

during an emergency anyone can use it WITHOUT a License .. that is also the law...

Oh, awesome - thanks for that info! Now I may try and get a HAM radio! Thanks darlin'!
