Humans are not smart enough to re-engineer homo sapiens. This experiment involves off-planet intervention where demonic forces are now seeking (through possessed earthings) to steal God's creation. We, as Christ's servants, are tasked with preserving God's creation. We can't let the demonic forces get away with it.
