It doesn't work that way, third parties hurt voters more in fptp systems. It would just guarantee a democrat victory till he gave up. Instead he should have purged the GOP and exposed the democrat subversives. Patriot party would crumble, they would lose all the lazy gop votes, the registered votes and so on all while taking votes from the republican party.
