People take civilization for granted. Humanity has seen many powerful and advanced civilizations disappear and the world revert to a previous state. There's always an assumption in the future things will be better. We saw it in the 90s and 80s with all that hope about the future, flying cars, space travel, etc. Yet the reality we got was third world people dragging civilization down to their level. They just assume live will always be sit in front of a computer, do an unnecessary job, and buy what you want from the store. There's no actual guarantee life will continue that way, and if we don't do something to preserve it, we could lose our way of life, like China has so many times, Egypt, Rome, etc.
