People can't handle the truth
You've heard the saying a person is smart but people are dumb? Ironically I think most people either know or would understand if told that expression, and what it ultimately means when groups of people try to think like a hive mind, especially in crisis situations.
People wake up every day to an unmitigated torrent of TV injected death, war, destruction rape and debauchery. What makes publicising the truth about aliens or anything else any more disturbing than the average 24 hour news cycle? Plasticated whores repeating uniform corporate mantras and political propaganda from behind strained and lifeless cocaine addled expressions is pure fucking abject horror to me.
