Aluminum is all about energy. It takes an enormous amount of electricity to turn bauxite into metal. This is one of the unintended consequences of cutting back on energy production.
As I've said before, we need to use more energy, not less energy. We need to be building coal-fired plants, nuclear plants, natural gas plants, all over the US. We need to be drilling for more oil and gas to get energy costs down to a minimum. The cost of energy is directly tied into our standard of living. When energy is cheap, we have better lives.
And there is no reason -- no reason at all -- why energy needs to be expensive. Energy is an endless resource. It will never run out. Even our oil reserves will last as far into the future as we can see. There is no "peak oil" and there never was any.
Using energy is not an environmental problem. The globo-fascists have tried to make it into a problem by demonizing carbon dioxide, but the reality is, we need more CO2 in the air, not less. The globo-fascists want to cut our energy production to make us poor and weak. It's that simple. We are more powerful when we use more energy. We are weaker when we use less energy.
