They do. This is why they are framing it as "white supremacy" (patriotic Americans) and are constantly trying to instigate violence. They know they need to make an example to instill fear and "justify" their rhetoric before they break the dam. Because if they wait too long and Americans collectively stand up against their tyranny.... which is what they fear the most - collectively standing up.
