tbh if I can email a depot and a self driving Tesla Estate turns up by itself on my drive 30 minutes later, then I'm OK with not personally owning a car
The problem is with all the investment in that system, it's unlikely to be cheaper than me just buying a second hand car and leaving it sitting outside all week.
I'm also only paying twice as much for a car than I did 35 years ago, so in real terms cars are getting really cheap.
People living in cities all give up their cars as soon as there is a cheap public rail transport, NOBODY likes shitty buses because they don't go far enough, everyone likes rail/tram systems, because they pretty much replace cars for city dwellers. Nobody in London owns a car because it's just pointless as the rail system is adequate, but it also means nobody really does anything outside of a city.
It's the same for Switzerland, cars are pretty pointless.
What I fear is them trying to force this system by making it financially painful to own a car, instead of just throwing so many public transport options at people that it becomes nicer to just use an electric bike
This would be painful for America, as it's probably impossible to do anything without a car because everything is so spread out
But personally I'm not inclined to do anything to benefit a society that's passively importing niggers into my country
