Thanks @ sheepdoggie...good reminder that this should be at the top of our focus list!
Lake Powell feeds Lake Mead, than below Hoover damn feeds Lake Mojave...which flows through Davis damn and into Lake Havasu... All along the way, water is being used. Powell and Mead are huge Lakes... They are both at disturbingly Low Levels! I remember reading,an article years ago that saidba company was siphoning off water from Lake Mead, from miles away, than bottling it and shipping it overseas. All with, at the time, Harry Reid's approval.
The "water crisis" in Central California, with the "delta smelt", was created, yes created..to starve farmers of water in the Central Valley, to force Farmers to sell their land. With No,Water, the Farm Land becomes useless and worthless. Giving Developers an ideal opportunity to snatch up cheap land! What a coincidence!
The Water Crisis OP posted about, concerning Powell, Mead, Mojave and Havasu will be much much worse and could potentially lead to a mass depopulation event!
I'm in SoCal. I'm so sick of the constant banter about the drought. We had a massive show pack this year, that they blah-blah-blahed about relieving drought conditions, and apparently everyone forgot about it.
Right now we are only allowed to water yards one day a week, upon threats of fines. Threats.
I now tell people I am appealing to a higher authority! PLEASE pray that we get rain that undeniably shuts down this narrative. None of it is a naturally occurring problem, in my opinion.
