I think Tucows is similar to GoDaddy.

Contact Privacy Inc. is a . You have to go through them to contact the website owner, who, for whatever reasons, wants to stay hidden.

Whether those reasons are good or bad, can't say at this point. He suggested contacting them to try and get more info on the website owner, but I'm not that brave! 😁

Having privacy set up for a domain is quite common for a number of reasons like avoiding spam, preventing being doxxed, etc.

If you have a controversial website like this I'd imagine some powerful people would be out to get you so that's enough reason to want to remain anonymous.

The fact that it's registered in Canada raises a red flag for me -but I guess we'll see. I DID search the site on some specifics, and it produced what I already know to be true so may be a good tool no matter where it came from.

Not correct, they just have a privacy proxy show up as the registrar which is tucows.com based out of Ontario, Canada. This is common if you want to remain an anonymous website owner.

You could reach out to tucows and try to pierce the privacy veil.
