I know what you mean and I know the whole LifeLog story, I have a problem with "DARPA created Facebook". DARPA was too stupid so they asked smart people to created something like LifeLog. Zuck already had something going with The Facebook at the Uni. DARPA saw that Facebook is awesome and shut down LifeLog. Then they asked Zuck to supply info when they ask him for it, that does not mean they wouldn't trow Zuck under the bus as now he is no longer needed. The Facebook Board is now running the show.
