It takes time to really know people out there, and, unfortunately, some people are very mean.
Jeremiah 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”
Eastern Tennessee is still rural and land is cheap.
I've been thinking of Texas especially because of the homeschool laws and land. However, property prices have increased by nearly 50% since last summer when I first started looking.
I've been checking out Kansas and Missouri too.
I'll look at Tennessee. Thanks for that. But, I'll have to make sure their homeschool laws work for me. ;)
Missouri is a good state as well from what I hear. Good luck with the search. Met a lot of Homeschoolers when I was involved in politics and they were night and day more mature than public school kids. The problem is without a question public schools.
The socialization in schools is overrated in my opinion. Lots of kids get bullied not only by students but by teachers as well. I also think more attention needs to be given to reading, writing and math. Everything else is memorization for the most part. And history, well, what's really true and what's not with some of it. Not only that, kids need time to explore and be creative. They spend almost every day in an institutional setting. It's not healthy.
not cheap anymore.. I have been watching that area for a few years ( plan on moving there ) Houses and property have almost tripled in two years..... You can find afordable butt hey need $$$$$$$$$ to repair/ rebuild...
Dang, tripled in a few years? I drove through there last year and I never would have guessed prices even moved. Very depressing area. Looks like better days have passed it by.
it is still exponentially better than Oregon... I am still looking at going there.. Family settled in Mohawk County 1790's- early 1800's
