I've been down that rabbit hole and it's very disturbing especially given the reverence one has when he is brought up Catholic. Martin Luther said when he took his pilgrimage to Rome that what he envisioned it to be (very Holy and Righteous) was actually a Den of Iniquity (Fornication is how the bible puts it). I believe that is how they are able to keep the charade going. Most don't know anything but their local church. They pay no attention to what the head of their "church" is saying or doing.

No doubt the Head of the Roman Catholic Church is the Anti-Christ, Son of Perdition, the Harlot and Mystery Babylon.
