A large Festive Foods plant caught fire at about 9 a.m. Monday in the Town of Belmont.
Festive makes frozen pizzas for Geno’s East and other brands, according to its website.
Firefighters were called to the plant on County Highway D and quickly called for mutual aid. More than 70 firefighters eventually battled the fire.
WSAW reports the fire started near an air compressor and employees thought they had extinguished it, but it flared up and spread to the roof of the building.
Firefighters had to take a defensive approach to the fire due to the heavy flames and heat.
The facility was a total loss.
