Where i am the court appointed attorneys are the same as the paid attorneys. I didn’t realize that until after i hired my attorney… he represented a few people in my pod that had him appointed and so i basically wasted 20k.
How does that work ?/. Did you go out and find him or was he 'recommended' to you.
There’s only a very small to choose from that work at courts in the area
Ah gotcha. Well that sucks - basically 'Hey i'll represent you - these are my fees' then goes on to the next fellow and ' Hello you, the Court has appointed me to represent you bc you cannot afford a Lawyer'. Anyways thanks for sharing.
Federal and state lawyers are different
yeah , you know the key words now, " no your honor, we will not waive time, we are ready to proceed" , freaking hard lesson.
Basically accept plea and get minimum required time or take to court and get maximum…. The feds have a 98% conviction rate so once they indict you you’re fucked
