Trump was elected because enough people were already awake enough to vote for him based on the promises he made, that he never fulfilled. He looked like he was the guy to serve the country and “drain the swamp“ to many people who already knew the swamp needed to be drained. He filled in a need that was already present. People were already hip to what was going on so they voted for him because he seemed to also understand it. And then he stabbed them in the back repeatedly. Most people who are awake now were awake when he decided to run and were drawn to him because of the promises he made. You can say more people are awake now, but why wouldn’t that just be because of what a fucking disaster the Democrat party has become?
