I have a feeling Elon never intended to buy Twitter and it's just a ruse to destroy it by revealing it's just mostly bots.

I don't think so. I think Elon smells an opportunity, here is how it should work:

  • Twitter and the big players picked up their niches, Twitter was made what it is by Trump as it was dying before 2016.

  • Having become a kind of quick and dirty information must have for everyone on the planet (at least that is the perception), Twitter has been taken over by commies and they are wearing it like a skinsuit to push "the message". This is actually keeping Twitter potential down to a minimum.

  • The reality of every single platform is that they are kind of sub-applications of a larger social media operating system and they keep them selves in their niche to stay alive. However, the reality here is that all of them are big enough to simply build all of the features of every single other social media site. In fact, the reality here is that you can literally list all of the features of all of the social media sites into a single giant whole and it would be possible for one player to utter dominate and the space the way Tencent dominates payments in China virtually 100%. The reason the social media companies don't do that is they don't want to risk a good thing, they are making money and going after the whole pie in some way is exceptionally risky.

  • However, given Twitters position, someone with vision could EASILY integrate payments, crypto, facebook groups, facebook marketplace and video twitter features and really push it into a powerful position that can really make it powerful and take out things like Paypal. Twitter does not have to copy ALL of the features of the other social media companies, just the features that matter because the smart investor will want to become the defacto financial products in the world the way Tencent is in China.

Why do you think Jack Dorsey has been floating around in the background? He owns Cash App and there is no doubt that Elon has already spoken to him about acquiring it and merging that userbase / technology directly into Twitter.

I think he is serious, but, every smart person knows that you always walk into a deal ready to walk away if the numbers aren't right.
