So Hellman set up a private server to communicate to his boss about the fake Alfa Bank data. Disgusting.
They knew it was a hoax from the beginning, but talked about it on a secret server so they wouldn't get caught!!
Hellman testified at trial that it took him and another agent less than a day to determine the data was bogus. So they kept the investigation open from Sept 19, 2016 through Jan 2017 (reopened and closed again by FBI in Feb '17 inexplicably) before they took any action to shut down the case
