Earlier testimony said a "close hold" was placed on the source by FBI leadership (meaning they were told to keep it secret from field agents). Under X-examination, the defense gets Agent Gaynor to say he thought:
"The Chicago office (FBI) would be biased against Sussmann if he had provided identity due to his DNC ties"

Gaynor WAS the subject of an FBI Investigation.
Appears that Durham changed his status from witness to "subject" during October 2020 interview. He went back and reviewed his notes and clarified there was a "close hold" on the investigation. As of Dec 2020, Durham restored Gaynor as a witness (no longer a subject). But there is an issue we may hear about -- apparently no other witness testified there was a "close hold" on the source of the Alfa Bank data (assume the defense will hammer on this point in closing). Gaynor says the names associated with the "close hold" are:
Keeping it secret only applied to field agents, not the cyber investigators.......hmmm.....

The FBI consulted with Alfa Bank's cyber security consultants Mandian to get their take on the accusations. Betting you only do this when you know it's bogus.
