FBI Agent Gaynor on witness stand:
- Learned of Alfa Bank allegations on 9/23/16 by Chicago office (Counter Intel investigation run by Strzok out of Chicago)
- Received documents from agents Heide/Sands
- Heide told Gaynor to find out source of allegations
- Agent Moffa told Heide source was Sussmann
- Agent Moffa was told that "senior leadership" put a "close hold" on data (which meant source was withheld from field agents)
- Research of "Central Dynamics Logs" did NOT support communications channel alleged in Sussmann/Joffe docs!!
On X-examination:
- Gaynor admits the discussion of if Sussmann was representing a client never came up in FBI meetings
- Defense says Gaynor told Durham team that he believed the source of the Alfa Bank info was the DNC (unclear when this statement was made)
- Defense points out Gaynor previously told the Grand Jury the source of the data was the DNC. He now says he was wrong.
