Carlin was a fraud, so maybe. He was a guy who talked big shit but always bowed behind the scenes to whatever he was told. Yeah, some real outsider. Sell out everywhere he went, his own TV show, countless TV appearances, yeah he was a real renegade outsider. He’s just like Ricky Gervais. Atheist maverick poser. He made some good observations, don’t get me wrong, but he was just as big of a sell out as the rest of them. He took his position strategically. Bashed the shit out of the right endlessly, out of tradition and values, endlessly, but would take just enough jabs at the left to pretend he was somewhat neutral or a free thinker. Again, just like Ricky Gervais. Pretty much swallowed everything the left had to offer, except for stuff that interfered with his career, but fraudulently positioned himself as some kind of renegade. Same exact playbook.
