Isn't the environmentally friendly approach to encourage mothers to breastfeed for at least a year, whereby alternatives become a market fraction such that few babies require it?
Quick check said 60% of women abandon breastfeeding their babies. Sounds like 60% of mothers are bad mothers. This should change. That would reduce the need for formula by 60%. That sounds environmentally reasonable.
